In Vejle there are lots of national and regional bicycle routes and also local bicycle rides. They are an excellent way to experience nature and history. Among the most popular routes are the historic Hærvej on the jutlandic ridge and the hilly Østkystrute along Vejle Fjord. On Bindeballestien you are riding on closed railway tracks through Vejle River Valley. Or you can test yourself on the toughest bicycle route in Denmark: 35 kilometers through the hilly city of Vejle.

The Ancient Road - National Route 3: Nørre Snede-Bække
Several thousand years ago, Jutland's main road, The Ancient Road (Hærvejen), followed the rivers up through the country. Today, The Ancient Road, national route 3, is a popular cycling and hiking route through Jutland's most scenic landscape.
The rolling woodlands of Nørreskoven are ideal for mountain biking. Here you will find probably Denmark’s most hilly mountain bike trails. The route runs past the sports college of Vejle Idrætshøjskole and meanders along both sides of the steep gorge of Bybækken.
Vejle’s probably highest mountain bike trail, Himmelpind Bike Park, is located in the district of Trædballe west of downtown. This is where local mountain bike enthusiasts have established a 550 meter long technically demanding mountain bike trail. Despite its modest length, the track features everything needed to get your pulse racing and challenge even the best of riders. It's the perfect trail to practice techniques, play around and just have fun.
Explore Vejle Ådal on two wheels, a local cycle tour of approx. 30 km, which takes you past some of the area's attractions such as Bindeballe Købmandsgård, Ravningbroen and Tørskind Grusgrav.
The River Valley Route is a local 25 km long cycle route that takes you past attractions such as the Barrow of the Egtved Girl and Bindesballe Købmandsgård. Enjoy the rolling hillscapes of Egtved and the valley of Vejle Ådal.
The East Coast Route – National Bicycle Route No. 5: Juelsminde - Fredericia
On the cycle route the East Coast Route, national route 5, from Juelsminde to Fredericia along major parts of Vejle Fjord's coastline, you are invited to experience Vejle's lovely beaches, castles, manor houses, nature and city life with museums and much more.
The Watermill Route is a local cycle route that leads you southeast of Vejle. Take a break and visit the beautiful and historic watermills of Gammelby Mølle, Follerup Mølle, Børkop Mølle and Brøndsted Mølle.
The Tiufkær Route - Regional Route 55 - is a cycle route from Vejle and south towards Kolding through Vejle Sønderskov and cozy villages like Klattrup, Tiufkær and Håstrup. The is 26 km long.
The local cycle route south of Vejle Inlet (Syd om Vejle Fjord) lets you enjoy scenic views of the sea from the coastal road. It is a 43 km long cycle route that takes you through beautiful forests such as Munkebjerg Skov, to the beach of Mørkholt and through the city of Vejle.
The Skærupdalen Route – Regional Bicycle Route No. 57
Skærupdalen, Regional Route 57, is a bicycle route that runs through wooded valleys, villages and open landscapes from Vejle to Fredericia. Do not miss the beautiful inlet Rands Fjord. The Skærupdal route is a trip of approx. 27.5 km.
Around Kongens Kær is a local cycle route that lets you bike around the scenic natural wetlands of Kongens Kær and past Vejle before continuing along a part of Bindeballestien towards Skibet. The route is approx. 15.5 km.
Experience Rands Fjord and Trelde Næs, a local 46 km long and beautiful bike tour southeast of Vejle, you will also reach the coast at Mørkholt, Høll and Hvidbjerg.
The Plantation Route is a local bike tour of 14 km offering hidden places and tranquility. Starting in Randbøldal, the route takes you through Frederikshåb Plantation and past Bindeballe Købmandsgård, where a detour to the Syvårssøerne (Seven Year Lakes) and a visit to the white sand dunes is recommended.
The Medieval Route - Regional Bicycle Route No. 35
On the cycle route The Medieval Route - Regional Route 35, you will come through Jelling and past ancient barrows, Ravningbroen in Vejle Ådal and Jutland meadows. Starting with the Ancient Road (Hærvejen) the medieval route is a journey through Danish history.
The Highland Route is a regional route of 18 km by the town of Skibet, that takes you past the lake of Fårup Sø, the beautiful Haraldskær Manor and the river of Vejle Å. Towards Rugballe along Route 34, Højlandsruten offers an excellent view across the valley of Grejs Ådal.
The Gudenådalen Route (Regional Route 33) follows Gudenåen, Denmark’s longest river, from its source at Tinnet Krat to the charming market town of Tørring.
The Engelsholm Route – Regional Bicycle Route No. 34
The Engelsholm route (regional route 34) goes north of Fårup Sø, down towards Engelsholm Sø, where Vejle Å originates and all the way to Billund. On the trip, you will pass Fårup Sø, and via a detour you can cycle past Engelsholm Castle.
The short Engelsholm Route is a local cycle route that takes you past Engelsholm Castle, the beautiful nature in Randbøldal and Nørup Church with the beautiful spire. The tour is approx. 18.5 km.
Enjoy a bike ride in the hill town of Vejle, where you find Denmark’s toughest city route. As one of the few places in Denmark, Vejle offers alpine-grade ascent rates, which are signposted by the various hill climbs. This route is 35 km long.
