Winter bathing at Albuen Beach
Are you looking for a beach for your winter bathing trip?
Albuen Beach is very shallow as it lies within the fjord, which is a bay. There is no bathing jetty or staircase leading into the water, so you have to walk a fair distance into the water before it gets deep. Toilets near the kiosk are available for use after your dip.
About the history of the beach
The construction of the beach began in 1942. The sand was brought in from Trelde Næs, and after six years of work, the new beach was ready for use. The beach became so popular that it has been renovated several times, most recently in 2005.
